Function of IPS Section:
The IPS Section deals with the establishment matters of IPS Officers of the State. Following works have been assigned to IPS Section as per the provisions of rules of Business:-
To oversees matters relating to Indian Police Service Officers such as posting, transfer, leave, General Provident Fund, Pay and allowances, advances (except Motor Car and House Building), deputation/ Empanelment, initiation and disposal of disciplinary proceedings, trainings, Group Insurance Scheme, matters pertaining to conduct rules, Leave Travel Concession and medical attendance etc. which have not been specifically allotted to General Administration Department.
Besides above this section also carry out following functions:-
Preparation and publication of Civil List of IPS Officers in website, permissions to attend meetings, seminar, conference, workshop. Permission for foreign visit, higher study/ to appear examination. Sanction of unutilized leave, composite transfer grant, publication of retirement notification, voluntary retirement, confirmation, review of service records under DCRB Rules, deputation of state IPS Officers for general election and assembly election of different state. Allocation, suspension, Promotion of IPS Officers. Court cases, Submission of data to Government of India for review of strength and composition of IPS cadre in every five years. IPS Cadre return reports, Quarterly vigilance / D.P. / IPS Cadre return and miscellaneous personal matters. Intimations related to sale and purchase of movable and immovable property are maintained for future reference under AIS Conduct Rules. Opinion of State Government to Government of India on the matter relating to amendment and formulation of different rules pertaining to IPS Officers
